Osaka native, Takahiro Kobuta, better known as Eqknock is a producer/dj based out of New York City. Growing up in Japan, Eqknock was introduced to world of hip hop, soul and jazz through the greats like Qtip, Dj Premiere, Dj Scratch, Miles Davis, Quincy Jones and many more that still influence himtoday. He understood early on as he immersed himself deeper into the culture that hip hop wasn'tjust dope beats and fresh gear. With its soul and jazz influences hip hop was a force held within it the souls and stories of those that came before and had the power to move people. So in 1997 Eqknock moved to New York City where he could be at the center of it all and live out his philosopy as adj/producer, "Touch the people's souls without words".

With his ear to the streets and his ability to mix different styles to create a unique and soulful sound Eqknock hit the ground running djing at venues all over New York, honing his skills and making notable connections. This hard work paid off when in January 2011, Dj Kay Slay of New York's mosticonic Hip Hop/R&B radio station Hot97 premiered Wink Loc's, "Brooklyn Knights", a track produced by Eqknock. This and future tracks received airplay on another of New York's most influential radiostations, Power 105 and was the beginning of a relationship that still exists with Hot 97 today. Laterthat year Eqknock also produced the remix to Universal Motown Records' star, Kelly Rowland's "Motivation".

2012 brought many more productions for Eqknock. He began working with and produced PushMontana's, "Availability", and "Iceman" and also put out a mixtape, "Fresshhhman Orientation". As aproducer his humble nature and unquestionable talent led to many collaborations most notablyworking on a beat with famed producer, Alchemist.

2013 was a turning point in what had already been a long and successful career. Hip hop was Eqknock's first love but now he looked to another long time love, house music. Inspried by house andafro beat greats like Osunlade, Black Coffee, Black Motion and Culoedesong Eqknock realeased hisfirst house ep," house of top", in the summer of 2014.

2015 brought the birth of his own label, Hot Cookies Presents Records, as well as the remix toJodeci's, "Every Moment". Eqknock is also currently working on Hot Cookies Presents Records' epwith its smash single, "Scent of a Woman," as well as a mixtape, "Osunlade & Yoruba RecordsClassics. When asked about the future Eqknock is focused on his upcoming projects including a clothing line, New Genius, and bringing house music with soul and depth to the people.
